नई दिल्ली: भारत और उज़्बेकिस्तान के बीच आर्थिक संबंध मज़बूत करने की कोशिशों के तहत टेक्सटाइल और कॉटन सहयोग के मुख्य क्षेत्र बनकर उभरे हैं। नई दिल्ली में आयोजित भारत-उज़्बेकिस्तान बिज़नेस फ़ोरम में भारत सरकार के वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने अगले तीन वर्षों में दोनों देशों के बीच व्यापार को दोगुना करने के प्रयास करने का आह्वान किया।

 

गोयल ने कॉटन उत्पादन में उज़्बेकिस्तान की मज़बूती और टेक्सटाइल सेक्टर में भारत की अग्रणी भूमिका का ज़िक्र करते हुए कहा कि दोनों देश मिलकर गारमेंट मैन्युफ़ैक्चरिंग, डिज़ाइन और ग्लोबल मार्केट में अपने कारोबार का विस्तार कर सकते हैं। उन्होंने दोनों देशों के कारोबारियों से साझेदारी की पूरी क्षमता का लाभ उठाने के लिए मिलकर निवेश, मैन्युफ़ैक्चरिंग और इनोवेशन करने का आग्रह किया।

 

भारत और उज़्बेकिस्तान के बीच द्विपक्षीय व्यापार लगभग 1.5 बिलियन डॉलर का आंकड़ा पार कर चुका है, लेकिन गोयल ने कहा कि यह उस क्षमता का एक छोटा सा हिस्सा है जिसे दोनों अर्थव्यवस्थाएं मिलकर हासिल कर सकती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि आपसी भरोसे और साझा समृद्धि पर आधारित यह रणनीतिक साझेदारी व्यापार, निवेश और आर्थिक सहयोग को बढ़ाने के बड़े अवसर प्रदान करती है।

 

वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय ने एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में बताया कि मंत्री ने भविष्य में सहयोग के लिए सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी, डिजिटल पब्लिक इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर, फिनटेक, एग्री-टेक, इंजीनियरिंग सामान, एडवांस्ड मैन्युफ़ैक्चरिंग और ऑटो कंपोनेंट्स जैसे क्षेत्रों की भी पहचान की है।

 

हाल ही में हुई द्विपक्षीय निवेश संधि का ज़िक्र करते हुए गोयल ने कहा कि इससे निवेशकों का भरोसा बढ़ेगा और दोनों देशों के बीच लंबे समय के निवेश और बिज़नेस पार्टनरशिप को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।

 

उन्होंने व्यापार को आसान बनाने के लिए व्यापारिक बाधाओं को दूर करने, मानकों, टेस्टिंग और सर्टिफ़िकेशन को आपसी मान्यता देने, कस्टम्स के डिजिटलाइज़ेशन को बढ़ाने और व्यापारिक मार्गों में सुधार करने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने कहा कि दोनों सरकारें एक व्यवस्थित, समयबद्ध और परिणाम-उन्मुख आर्थिक साझेदारी की दिशा में काम कर रही हैं।

 

गोयल ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और उज़्बेकिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति शौकत मिर्ज़ियोयेव के राजनीतिक नेतृत्व ने द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को नई गति दी है और उन्होंने कारोबारियों से साझेदारी की पूरी आर्थिक क्षमता को साकार करने के लिए आपसी जुड़ाव को और मज़बूत करने का आग्रह किया।

New Delhi:2026/08/04: Textiles and cotton emerged as key areas of collaboration as India and Uzbekistan sought to deepen economic ties, with Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Piyush Goyal calling for efforts to double bilateral trade over the next three years at the India-Uzbekistan Business Forum in New Delhi.

 

Goyal highlighted Uzbekistan's strength in cotton production and India's leadership in the textile sector, saying both countries could jointly expand into garment manufacturing, design and global markets. He urged businesses from both sides to co-invest, co-manufacture and co-innovate to unlock the full potential of the partnership.

 

Bilateral trade between India and Uzbekistan has crossed approximately $1.5 billion, but Goyal said it represents only a fraction of what the two economies can achieve together. He said the strategic partnership, built on mutual trust and shared prosperity, offers significant opportunities to expand trade, investment and economic co-operation.

 

The minister also identified information technology, digital public infrastructure, fintech, agri-tech, engineering goods, advanced manufacturing and auto components as promising sectors for future collaboration, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said in a press release.

 

Referring to the recently concluded Bilateral Investment Treaty, Goyal said it would strengthen investor confidence and encourage long-term investments and business partnerships between the two countries.

 

He called for eliminating trade barriers, promoting mutual recognition of standards, testing and certification, increasing customs digitalisation and improving trade routes to facilitate commerce. He added that both governments are working towards a structured, time-bound and outcome-oriented economic partnership.

 

Goyal said the political leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has given fresh momentum to bilateral relations and urged businesses to deepen engagement to realise the partnership's full economic potential.
