नई दिल्ली: 2026/03/16: भारत के वाणिज्य सचिव राजेश अग्रवाल ने कहा है कि भारत अमेरिका (US) के साथ व्यापार समझौते पर तभी हस्ताक्षर करेगा जब वाशिंगटन एक नई वैश्विक टैरिफ रूपरेखा को अंतिम रूप दे देगा।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि प्रस्तावित व्यापार समझौते पर मार्च में हस्ताक्षर होने की उम्मीद थी, लेकिन US की टैरिफ नीति में हुए बदलावों के कारण अब स्थिति बदल गई है।

 

घरेलू मीडिया रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, अग्रवाल ने कहा, “US वैश्विक स्तर पर एक नई टैरिफ संरचना बनाने की कोशिश कर रहा है। एक बार जब वह संरचना तैयार हो जाएगी, तो समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर करना बेहतर होगा। असल में हस्ताक्षर तभी होंगे जब नई वैश्विक टैरिफ संरचना को अंतिम रूप दे दिया जाएगा।”

 

उन्होंने इस बात की भी पुष्टि की कि भारत रूसी तेल की खरीद लगातार बढ़ा रहा है।

 

उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि कनाडा के साथ मुक्त व्यापार समझौते को लेकर बातचीत भी चल रही है। उम्मीद है कि दोनों पक्ष इस महीने के आखिर में ऑनलाइन माध्यम से आगे की चर्चा करेंगे, जबकि आमने-सामने की बातचीत का पहला दौर अप्रैल या मई में होने की संभावना है।

New Delhi: 2026/03/16: Indian Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agarwal has said India will sign a trade agreement with the United States (US) only after Washington finalises a new global tariff framework.

 

The proposed trade deal was expected to be signed in March, but the situation has changed now due to developments in the US tariff policy, he said.

 

 “The US is trying to recreate a tariff architecture globally. Once that architecture is in place, it will be better to sign the deal. The actual signing will happen only after the new global tariff structure is finalised,” Agarwal was quoted as saying by domestic media reports.

 

He also confirmed that India continues to increase purchases of Russian oil.

 

Negotiations with Canada on a free trade agreement are under way as well, he said. Both sides are expected to hold further online discussions later this month, while the first round of in-person negotiations is likely to take place in April or May.
