मुंबई : २०२४/ ०४/ २८: प्रसिद्ध उद्योगपति गणपत कोठारी साउथ मुंबई लोकसभा सीट से साल २०२४ के इलेक्शन में खड़े होने वाले हैं । उन्‍होंने निर्दलीय  इलेक्शन लड़ने का फैसला लिया है।

 

उन्होंने कई सालों से विकास को लेकर साउथ मुंबई में आवाज उठाई है। हमने गणपत कोठारी जी से जानना चाहा कि निर्दलीय लड़ने का फैसला किस आधार पर उन्होंने लिया है।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि इस इलाके के विकास के मुद्दे को लेकर उन्‍होंने हमेशा जोरदार आवाज उठाई है। उन्होंने कहा कि मैं किसी भी पार्टी पॉलिटिक्स से जुडा हुआ नहीं हूं।  ना मैंने आज तक राजनीति की। लेकिन मैं यहां 40 वर्ष से रह रहा हूं। यहां की समस्याओं से वाकिफ हूं। कुछ लोगों ने हमें बोला कि गणपत भाई,  जब तक अपनी आवाज संसद या विधानसभा तक नहीं पहुंचेगी तब तक यहां का विकास होना असंभव है। सारे फैसले इन्हीं दो माध्यमों से होते हैं। इस तरह मुझे लोगों का सहयोग मिला। लोगों ने सपोर्ट किया।  और लोगों ने मुझे इसके लिए प्रेरित किया कि तू एक बार लोकसभा के लिए  मैदान में उतर। हार जीत होती रहती है।  लेकिन अपना जो विकास का मुद्दा है , वह सरकार तक जरूर पहुंचना चाहिए।  और अब ऐसा हुआ है कि यह माहौल बन गया है। लोगों के दिमाग में यह मुद्दा एकदम चढ़ चुका है। वाकई में आजादी के बाद से आज तक यह क्षेत्र  विकास से यह वंचित क्यों रहा। जबकि  यह हाईएस्ट टैक्स पेयरों का एरिया है।  शासन प्रशासन के सारे हेड क्वार्टर यहां है। मंत्रालय यहां पर है। विधानसभा यहां पर  है। सेंट्रल गवर्नमेंट के सारे हेड क्वार्टर यहां हैं।  फिर भी यह एरिया विकास से बंचित  रहा।

 

उन्‍होंने कहा कि साउथ मुंबई का यह एरिया आज भी वंचित रह गया विकास के मामले में। आप अगर साउथ मुंबई  घूमेंगे तो पाएंगे कि यहां की गलियों में साइकिल डालना भी बहुत मुश्किल काम है। यहां से 200 मीटर पर बीएमसी का ऑफिस है। लेकिन गंदगी का यह हाल है, कि आदमी को नाक पकड़ के चलना पड़ता है। यहां पर 45 लाख लेबर काम करता था। यहां की डेवलपमेंट नहीं होने की वजह से पूरा कपड़ा बाजार यहां से शिफ्ट हो चुका है। गोल्ड का बाजार शिफ्ट की तैयारी में है। गोल्ड वाले भी बड़े परेशान हैं। आप अगर सर्वे करेंगे तो आपको पता चलेगा। मेटल बाजार यहां से काफी शिफ्ट हो रहा है। यहां से 3 लाख लेबर पलाइन कर चुका है। इस एरिया में किसी  जमाने में कपड़े की मिले थीं। वह बंद हो चुकी हैं। उसका कारण सरकारी उदासीनता है।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि यहां पर रहवासी हैं। यहां व्यवसायिक जगत के लोग हैं। इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर साउथ मुंबई एक जानी मानी जगह है।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि इसीलिए मैंने निर्दलीय लड़ने का फैसला किया कि मेरे को किसी के दबाव में काम नहीं करना पड़े । राजनीतिक पार्टियों के दबाव में सांसदों को  काम करना पड़ता है तो यहां के जो डेवलपमेंट के मामले गौन हो जाते हैं । मैं चाहता हूं कि यहां की जनता अगर मेरे को चुन के भेजेगी तो उनकी जो समस्याओं  लिए , मैं यहां के डेवलपमेंट के लिए , संसद में आवाज उठा पाऊंगा ।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि  मैं मोदी जी के कामों से काफी प्रभावित हूं ।  उन्होंने पूरी भारत में बेशुमार विकास के काम किए। हमारे यहां के लोकल  सांसदों  की यह कमियां रही कि हमारे लोगों ने विकास की आवाज नहीं उठाई । बाकी मैं मोदी जी के कामों से बहुत प्रभावित हूं । उन्होंने पूरे भारत में बहुत विकास किए हैं । चाहे एयरपोर्ट हो या एजुकेशन हो या  हॉस्पिटल हो या  रोड हो। सिर्फ साउथ मुंबई के विकास के लिए हमारे लोगों ने आवाज नहीं उठाई। इसलिए हम वंचित रहे।

 

उन्‍होंने कहा कि सभी धर्म जाति प्रांत के लोग यहां रहते हैं । सभी आपस में मेल जोल करके खूब काम करते हैं । यहां व्यापारियों में जाति धर्म कोई मुद्दा नहीं है । यहां मुद्दा सिर्फ और सिर्फ विकास का है । हर जाति धर्म या प्रांत यही चाहता है कि यहां का विकास हो । डेवलपमेंट हो । उनको व्यापार करने के लिए अच्छी जगह मिले । अच्छा से अच्छा एनवायरमेंट मिले। यह पॉसिबल है । जब धाराबी के बारे में सोच आ सकती है कि उसको डेवलपमेंट करना है तो साउथ मुंबई के  बारे में क्यों नहीं। अगर केंद्र और राज्य में कोई भी सरकार आए और क्लस्टर डेवलपमेंट के लिए सोचे तो यहां पर हर चीज बन सकती है । सारे मार्केट जो हैं । बड़े-बड़े मार्केट हैं, कपड़े का है, गोल्ड का है, मेटल का है, इमिटेशन का है, ज्वेलरी का है।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि आज पूरा डायमंड बाजार जो साउथ मुंबई  में हुआ करता था, इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर और रीडेवलपमेंट नहीं होने की वजह से उसको पलायन करना पड़ा। अगर यही स्थिति रही तो आगे जाकर धीरे-धीरे बहुत से मार्केट पलायन कर जाएंगे। यह एशिया के सबसे बड़ी रेवेन्यू देने वाला जगह है। इंडिया में हाईएस्ट रेवेन्यू आज साउथ मुंबई से जाती है। चाहे मुंसिपल टैक्स के रूप में हो चाहे सेंट्रल गवर्नमेंट को टैक्सेस के रूप में हो, चाहे व्यापार करके जो जीएसटी के रूप में हो। हाईएस्ट रेवेन्यू देने वाला साउथ मुंबई है। और धीरे-धीरे करके व्यापारी यहां से पलायन कर रहे हैं। धीरे-धीरे रोजगार के अवसर भी घट रहे हैं यहां। अगर इस पर ध्यान नहीं दिया गया। तो आगे समस्‍या और बढ़ेगी ।

 

सबसे बड़ी बात यह है कि यह  समुंद्र के किनारे बसा हुआ है।  उसकी खूबसूरती को डेवलपमेंट के द्वारा बहुत अच्छा बनाया जा सकता।

He has raised his voice for development in South Mumbai for many years. I wanted to know from Ganpat Kothari on what basis he had taken the decision to contest as an independent.

 

He said that he has always raised his voice strongly on the issue of development of this area. He said that I am not associated with any party politics. Neither have I done politics till date. But I have been living here for 40 years. I am aware of the problems here. Some people told me that Ganpat Bhai, unless your voice reaches the Parliament or Assembly, development here is impossible. All decisions are taken through these two bodies. This is how I got people's support. People supported. And people inspired me to contest for Lok Sabha once. There is always victory and defeat. But our development issue must definitely reach the government. And now what has happened is that this environment has been created. This issue has become very prominent in people's minds. In fact, why has this area remained deprived of development since independence till today? Whereas this is the area of highest tax payers. All the head quarters of the government administration are here. The ministry is here. The assembly is here. All the head quarters of the Central Government are here. Still this area remained deprived of development.

 

He said that this area of South Mumbai still remains deprived in terms of development. If you visit South Mumbai, you will find that it is very difficult to even ride a bicycle on the streets here. BMC office is 200 meters from here. But such is the condition of filth that a man has to walk holding his nose. 45 lakh laborers used to work here. Due to lack of development here, the entire textile market has shifted from here. The gold market is preparing for a shift. Gold people are also very worried. If you do a survey you will know. The metal market is shifting a lot from here. 3 lakh laborers have migrated from here. Once upon a time clothes were found in this area. She has closed. The reason for this is government indifference.

 

He said that there are residents here. There are people from the business world here. South Mumbai is a well-known place at the international level.

 

He said that that is why I decided to contest as an independent so that I do not have to work under anyone's pressure. When MPs have to work under the pressure of political parties, the development issues here become secondary. I want that if the people here elect me, then I will be able to raise my voice in the Parliament regarding their problems for the development of this place.

 

He said that I am very impressed by the works of Modi ji. He did countless development works all over India. The shortcomings of our local MPs were that our people did not raise the voice of development. Rest, I am very impressed by the works of Modi ji. He has made a lot of developments all over India. Be it airport or education or hospital or road. Our people did not raise their voice only for the development of South Mumbai. Therefore we remained deprived.

 

He said that people of all religions and castes of the province live here. Everyone works very well in coordination with each other. Caste and religion is not an issue among businessmen here. The issue here is only about development. Every caste, religion or region wants development here. There should be development. They should get a good place to do business. Got the best environment. This is possible. When one can think about developing Dharabi, then why not about South Mumbai. If any government in the center or state comes and thinks about cluster development, then everything can be made here. All the markets are there. There are big markets, be it for clothes, for gold, for metal, for imitation, for jewellery.

 

He said that today the entire diamond market which used to be in South Mumbai had to migrate due to lack of infrastructure and redevelopment. If this situation continues then going forward many people will gradually migrate from the market. This is the biggest revenue generating place in Asia. The highest revenue in India today comes from South Mumbai. Be it in the form of municipal tax, be it in the form of taxes to the Central Government, or be it in the form of business tax, be it in the form of GST. The highest revenue generating area is South Mumbai. And gradually traders are migrating from here. Gradually employment opportunities are also decreasing here. If this is not taken care of. So the problem will increase further.

 

The biggest thing is that it is situated on the sea shore. Its beauty can be improved by development.
