India, GCC review FTA talks ahead of September ministerial meeting।।सितंबर में होने वाली मंत्री-स्तरीय बैठक से पहले भारत और GCC ने FTA बातचीत की समीक्षा की

रियाद: 24/08/2026: भारत और गल्फ कोऑपरेशन काउंसिल (GCC) ने फ्री ट्रेड एग्रीमेंट (FTA) बातचीत की समीक्षा की है। इस साल फरवरी में बातचीत कुछ समय के लिए रुक गई थी, लेकिन अब इसे फिर से शुरू किया गया है। इसमें एक्सपोर्टर्स, इम्पोर्टर्स और सोर्सिंग टीमों के लिए वेस्ट एशिया ट्रेड पैक्ट को एजेंडे में रखा गया है, साथ ही अगले सितंबर में होने वाली GCC-भारत मंत्री-स्तरीय बैठक की तैयारियों पर भी चर्चा हुई।

 

कल रियाद में सऊदी अरब में भारत के राजदूत विपुल और GCC के सेक्रेटरी जनरल जासेम मोहम्मद अल-बुदैवी के बीच बातचीत हुई।

 

बैठक में भारत-GCC संबंधों, क्षेत्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय घटनाक्रमों और अगले महीने होने वाली मंत्री-स्तरीय बैठक की तैयारियों पर भी चर्चा हुई।

 

GCC सचिवालय ने कहा कि दोनों पक्षों ने क्षेत्रीय सुरक्षा और स्थिरता सहित साझा हितों के मुद्दों पर लगातार तालमेल और बातचीत की ज़रूरत पर ज़ोर दिया।

 

रियाद में भारतीय दूतावास ने 'X' पर एक पोस्ट में कहा कि दोनों पक्षों ने भारत-GCC सहयोग, FTA बातचीत, उच्च-स्तरीय मुलाकातों और आपसी हित के क्षेत्रीय और वैश्विक घटनाक्रमों पर चर्चा की।

 

GCC ने एक प्रेस रिलीज़ में कहा कि बैठक के दौरान कई साझा हितों के विषयों की समीक्षा की गई, जिनमें GCC और भारत के बीच संबंध और उन्हें इस तरह से विकसित और बेहतर बनाने के तरीके शामिल हैं जिनसे साझा हितों को बढ़ावा मिले।

 

अधिकारियों ने क्षेत्र में ताज़ा घटनाक्रमों के साथ-साथ क्षेत्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय घटनाक्रमों पर भी विचार-विमर्श किया। उन्होंने क्षेत्र में सुरक्षा और स्थिरता को बनाए रखने में योगदान देने के लिए साझा हितों के मुद्दों पर लगातार तालमेल और बातचीत जारी रखने के महत्व को दोहराया।

 

GCC में बहरीन, कुवैत, ओमान, कतर, सऊदी अरब और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) शामिल हैं। इसे 1981 में एक राजनीतिक, आर्थिक और सुरक्षा समूह के तौर पर बनाया गया था।

Riyadh: 2026/08/24: India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have reviewed free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations, keeping a potential West Asia trade pact on the agenda for exporters, importers and sourcing teams after the talks were temporarily disrupted earlier in February this year, in addition to preparations for the GCC-India ministerial meeting scheduled to be held next September.

 

The discussions took place in Riyadh yesterday between India's ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Vipul, and GCC secretary general Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi.

 

The meeting also covered wider India-GCC relations, regional and international developments, and preparations for a ministerial meeting scheduled next month.

 

The GCC Secretariat said both sides underlined the need for continued coordination and consultations on issues of shared interest, including regional security and stability.

 

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh said in a post on X that the two sides discussed India-GCC cooperation, FTA negotiations, higher-level engagements, and regional and global developments of mutual interest.

 

During the meeting, a number of topics of common interest were reviewed, most notably relations between the GCC and India, and ways to develop and enhance them in a manner that serves common interests, GCC said in a press release.

 

The officials also exchanged views on the latest updates in the region, as well as regional and international developments, affirming the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on issues of common interest in order to contribute to supporting security and stability in the region.

 

The GCC comprises Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and was established in 1981 as a political, economic and security grouping.
