मनीला: 20 सितंबर, 2026 को मनीला में ASEAN आर्थिक मंत्रियों की बैठक के दौरान, यूरोपियन फ्री ट्रेड एसोसिएशन (EFTA) देशों और एसोसिएशन ऑफ़ साउथईस्ट एशियन नेशंस (ASEAN) के उच्च-स्तरीय प्रतिनिधियों ने आर्थिक सहयोग पर ASEAN-EFTA संयुक्त घोषणा के तहत 2026-2030 के लिए कार्य योजना को अपनाया।

 

यह कार्य योजना छह क्षेत्रों में बातचीत और जानकारी साझा करने के साथ-साथ निरंतर सहयोग और जुड़ाव के लिए एक रूपरेखा तैयार करती है: मुक्त व्यापार समझौतों का कार्यान्वयन और निगरानी; सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यम; ई-कॉमर्स; बौद्धिक संपदा अधिकार; नवाचार और उभरती प्रौद्योगिकियां; और व्यापार तथा सतत विकास। EFTA ने एक बयान में कहा कि इसमें व्यापारिक मिशनों की संभावना तलाशने और बिजनेस-टू-बिजनेस बातचीत को बढ़ावा देने की भी परिकल्पना की गई है।

 

EFTA पक्ष का प्रतिनिधित्व स्विट्जरलैंड के आर्थिक मामलों के राज्य सचिवालय की राज्य सचिव हेलेन बुडलिंगर आर्टिडा, ASEAN में नॉर्वे की राजदूत मैरियन रूड हेगन और टोक्यो में आइसलैंड दूतावास में मिशन के उप प्रमुख रैगनार थोरवार्डारसन ने किया। ASEAN प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व फिलीपींस के व्यापार और उद्योग विभाग की सचिव क्रिस्टीना ए. रोक ने किया और इसमें सभी 11 ASEAN देशों के मंत्री या उप-मंत्री स्तर के प्रतिनिधि तथा ASEAN के महासचिव शामिल थे।

 

EFTA देशों और ASEAN ने कहा कि इसे अपनाना पहले से ही व्यापक और गतिशील आर्थिक संबंधों को मजबूत करने की दिशा में एक और कदम है। EFTA के छह ASEAN सदस्यों के साथ मुक्त व्यापार समझौते हैं, जिनमें हाल ही में मलेशिया, थाईलैंड और वियतनाम के साथ किए गए तीन समझौते शामिल हैं। बयान में यह भी कहा गया है कि पिछले 20 वर्षों में ASEAN के साथ वस्तुओं का व्यापार लगभग चार गुना हो गया है और 2025 में यह €20 बिलियन (~$23 बिलियन) से अधिक हो गया।

 

नॉर्वे और स्विट्जरलैंड भी ASEAN के साथ स्ट्रक्चरल डायलॉग पार्टनरशिप बनाए हुए हैं।

Manila:2026/09/22: High-level representatives of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) States and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) adopted the Work Plan for 2026-2030 under the ASEAN-EFTA Joint Declaration on Economic Cooperation at a meeting in Manila on September 20, 2026, on the margins of the ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting.

 

The work plan sets a framework for continued cooperation and engagement, with dialogue and information sharing across six areas: implementation and monitoring of free trade agreements; micro, small and medium-sized enterprises; e-commerce; intellectual property rights; innovation and emerging technologies; and trade and sustainable development. It also foresees the exploration of business missions and the fostering of business-to-business dialogue, EFTA said in a statement.

 

The EFTA side was represented by State Secretary Helene Budliger Artieda of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland, Mariann Ruud Hagen, Ambassador of Norway to ASEAN, and Ragnar Thorvardarson, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Iceland in Tokyo. The ASEAN delegation was led by Cristina A. Roque, Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, and included representatives of all 11 ASEAN States at ministerial or vice-ministerial level, as well as the Secretary-General of ASEAN. 

 

The EFTA States and ASEAN said the adoption marks a further step in strengthening economic ties that are already broad and dynamic. EFTA has free trade agreements with six ASEAN members, including three concluded recently with Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, while merchandise trade with ASEAN nearly quadrupled over the last 20 years and exceeded €20 billion (~$23 billion) in 2025, the statement added.

 

Norway and Switzerland also maintain Structural Dialogue Partnerships with ASEAN.
