नई दिल्ली: 01 जनवरी 2023 : वैश्विक समुद्री व्यापार क्षेत्र में आधुनिकीकरण और क्षमता निर्माण को बढ़ावा देने के सरकारी प्रयासों के कारण भारत समुद्री व्यापारिक व्यापार में दुनिया के शीर्ष दस देशों में शामिल हो सकता है। भारतीय बंदरगाह, नौवहन और जलमार्ग मंत्री सर्बानंद सोनोवाल ने हाल ही में मर्चेंट्स चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स एंड इंडस्ट्री की 121 वीं वार्षिक आम बैठक को संबोधित करते हुए कहा। 

 

उन्होंने कहा कि 2070 के शुद्ध शून्य उत्सर्जन लक्ष्य को पूरा करने के लिए इस तरह के विकास को स्थायी तरीके से करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है। मंत्री ने मील का पत्थर हासिल करने के लिए किसी समयरेखा का उल्लेख नहीं किया। समुद्री व्यापार की मात्रा सूची में भारत अब 18वें स्थान पर है।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि 'सागरमाला' और 'पीएम गति शक्ति' जैसी परियोजनाएं परिणाम दे रही हैं और अगले कुछ वर्षों में सभी कार्यक्रमों के शुरू होने के बाद एक बड़ा परिवर्तन होगा।

 

2014 में, बंदरगाहों में हमारी कार्गो हैंडलिंग क्षमता 800 मिलियन टन थी और 2022 में, यह 1,600 मिलियन टन है। अंतर्देशीय जलमार्गों में कार्गो हैंडलिंग 2014 के 16 मिलियन टन से बढ़कर अब 109 मिलियन टन हो गई है।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि टिकाऊ लक्ष्य हासिल करने के लिए पारादीप, कांडला, तूतीकोरिन बंदरगाहों और कोचीन शिपयार्ड के बीच समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार का लक्ष्य कार्बन तटस्थता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 'ग्रीन शिपिंग' के लिए वैकल्पिक प्रौद्योगिकी अपनाने के लिए एक नियामक ढांचा और एक रोडमैप विकसित करना है।

New Dehhi: 01 Jan 2023 : India can be among the top ten countries in world in maritime merchandise trade due to government efforts to modernise and bolster capacity building in the sector. Indian ports, shipping and waterways minister Sarbananda Sonowal recently said addressing the 121st annual general meeting of the Merchants' Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

The focus is to carry out such development in a sustainable manner to meet the 2070 net zero emission target, he said. The minister did not mention any timeline for achieving the milestone. India ranks 18 now in the maritime trade volume list. 

 

Projects like 'Sagarmala' and 'PM Gati Shakti' are delivering results and will result in a sea change after all the programmes are rolled out in the next few years, he said

 

''In 2014, our cargo handling capacity in ports was 800 million tonne and in 2022, it is 1,600 million tonne,'' he was quoted as saying by a news agency. In the inland waterways, the cargo handling has now grown to 109 million tonne from 16 million tonne in 2014.

 

A memorandum of understanding was signed among Paradip, Kandla, Tuticorin ports and Cochin shipyard to achieve sustainable goals, he said.

 

The government aims at developing a regulatory framework and a roadmap for alternative technology adoption for 'green shipping' to foster carbon neutrality, he added.
