Mumbai:2026/08/06:
Industry leaders gather in Mumbai for
the exclusive preview of FLO Memory Stretch and the launch of FLO CAST -
India's first fashion-forecasting journal by a fabric brand.
The
way people live has changed. A morning boardroom meeting can become an
afternoon flight. A business trip can flow into a weekend celebration. Between
work and weddings, travel and leisure, today's consumer moves effortlessly
through multiple occasions in a single day.
Yet
for decades, stretch fabrics have focused on only one question: how far can a
fabric stretch?
GBTL
believed the industry was asking the wrong one.
After
years of research, engineering and product development, GBTL - Grasim Bhiwani
Textile Limited., unveiled FLO Memory Stretch at an exclusive preview held at
JW Marriott, Juhu, Mumbai. It was not simply another stretch fabric being
introduced; it was an entirely new philosophy of occasion wear.
The
preview brought together twenty of India's most distinguished textile
specialists, business partners and trade experts to experience a brand years in
the making. More than a product unveiling, the evening marked the beginning of
a new chapter in premium suiting - one built on intelligent engineering,
purposeful design and a sharper read on modern life.
STRETCH IS EASY. RECOVERY IS WHAT
MATTERS.
At
the heart of FLO Memory Stretch lies one simple belief: stretch is easy,
recovery is what matters.
Conventional
stretch fabrics gradually lose their form with repeated movement. FLO Memory
Stretch, Powered by Rebound Tech™, was engineered to do something more
demanding - it intelligently recovers. Developed over years of research,
Rebound Tech allows the fabric to move naturally with the body and return
closer to its original form after every movement, delivering exceptional
comfort, superior shape retention, and garments that stay sharp through the
day.
Because
true performance isn't measured by how far a fabric stretches. It's measured by
how beautifully it rebounds.
CRAFTED IN PARIS. ENGINEERED FOR EVERY
OCCASION.
Today's
consumers no longer dress for a single moment - they move through many in one
day, and they expect their clothing to keep pace. Crafted in Paris and
engineered in India, FLO Memory Stretch has been built around six defining
occasions that shape contemporary living: Business, Everyday, Travel, Leisure,
Party and Wedding.
Each
collection is purposefully engineered for the balance of comfort, performance
and elegance its occasion demands - while carrying the same FLO promise of
intelligent recovery and timeless sophistication. Rather than one fabric for
every need, FLO offers an occasion-led portfolio built for the way people
actually live today.
A BRAND BORN FROM THE QUESTION EVERY
STRETCH FABRIC FORGOT TO ANSWER
Welcoming
the gathering, Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Vice President & Brand Sales Head -
FLO, reflected on the journey behind the brand.
“Every
stretch fabric has spent years asking one question - how far can it stretch? We
believed the industry had forgotten to ask the more important one: what happens
after the stretch? FLO Memory Stretch is a brand born from that question.
Powered by Rebound Tech, it has been created to redefine performance — not by
how much a fabric moves, but by how confidently it returns. This is not merely
a new fabric; it is a new benchmark for occasion wear.”
- Sanjay Srivastava, Vice President &
Brand Sales Head, FLO
A VISION BEYOND INNOVATION
Addressing
the gathering, Mr. Rajendra V. Agarwal, Managing Director & Group Mentor,
Donear Group, shared the thinking behind FLO.
“True innovation begins by understanding how people live, not simply how
products are made. Today's consumers move effortlessly between multiple
occasions, and they expect their clothing to move with them. FLO Memory Stretch
represents years of research, engineering and craftsmanship, and reflects our
commitment to creating meaningful innovations that generate long-term value for
our customers, our trade partners and the industry as a whole.”

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE FABRIC
One
of the evening's highlights was a technical presentation by Mr. Sushil Hada,
PPC Head, GBTL, whose career spans over four decades in textile innovation,
fibre technology and fabric research.
Mr. Hada walked guests through the years of experimentation and material science that culminated in Rebound Tech - a proprietary technology built to deliver exceptional stretch with intelligent recovery. His presentation made the case that recovery, not stretch alone, is the true measure of fabric performance, and that a garment's structure, drape and elegance should hold through an entire day, not just the first hour of it.
TAILORING MEETS TECHNOLOGY
Bringing
the perspective of the master tailor, Mr. Ujjwal Savla, founder of Threadsmith
and a Savile Row-trained bespoke craftsman, explored how contemporary tailoring
is evolving alongside fabric technology.
His
presentation covered the precision construction, specialised stitching and
finishing techniques that let a high-performance stretch fabric like FLO Memory
Stretch deliver its full potential — a reminder that innovation and
craftsmanship succeed only when they work hand in hand.
LOOKING BEYOND FABRICS
Innovation
at GBTL did not end with a new brand. The evening also marked the unveiling of
FLO CAST — India's first biannual fashion-forecasting journal by a fabric
brand.
More
than a publication, FLO CAST is envisioned as an industry companion: a platform
that turns global fashion intelligence into business insight. Published every
six months, it curates emerging international colour palettes, fabric
movements, silhouettes, styling directions and shifting consumer preferences,
helping retailers, designers and manufacturers plan with greater confidence.
The inaugural edition, covering July 2026 to January 2027, was presented to
guests on the night.
“Fashion has always looked ahead. We believe the fabric industry should
do the same. FLO CAST is our commitment to giving retailers, designers and
creators not just products to sell, but perspectives to build upon. If FLO
Memory Stretch represents how fabrics should perform tomorrow, FLO CAST
represents where fashion is headed next. Together, they reflect our belief that
innovation should inspire not only what we wear, but how we think about
fashion.”-Aakash
Mishra, AVP - Marketing, Donear Group
THE JOURNEY HAS JUST BEGUN
The
Mumbai preview marks the opening chapter of FLO's journey. The brand now
prepares for its official trade unveiling, where hundreds of retailers,
wholesalers and dealers will experience FLO Memory Stretch firsthand and
explore what it means for the future of premium occasion wear.
By
the end of the evening, one thought had made its way through every conversation
in the room: FLO Memory Stretch is not simply another fabric entering the
market. It is the start of a new conversation — one where fabrics are judged
not by how far they stretch, but by how confidently they recover.
With
FLO Memory Stretch, GBTL shows once again that meaningful innovation isn't
about following the market. It's about shaping where it goes next.
