Khadi & Upcycling 2026: Celebrating Tradition, Creativity and Sustainable Living।। खादी और अपसाइकिलिंग 2026: परंपरा, क्रिएटिविटी और सस्टेनेबल जीवनशैली का जश्न

 

मुंबई: 06/09/2026: कॉलेज ऑफ़ होम साइंस, निर्मला निकेतन और अन्वेषणम फ़ाउंडेशन का एलुमनाई एसोसिएशन, शनिवार, 26 सितंबर 2026 को दोपहर 2:00 बजे से शाम 5:00 बजे तक मैरी एडिलेड डी सिसे कॉलेज हॉल, कॉलेज ऑफ़ होम साइंस निर्मला निकेतन, चर्चगेट, मुंबई में “खादी और अपसाइकिलिंग 2026 – सेमिनार और वर्कशॉप” आयोजित किया।

 

इस प्रोग्राम ने खादी, अपसाइकिलिंग, नेचुरल स्किनकेयर और एंटरप्रेन्योरशिप को एक साथ लाया। इसे इस तरह से डिज़ाइन किया गया है कि पारंपरिक ज्ञान को आज की सस्टेनेबल (टिकाऊ) प्रथाओं से जोड़ा जा सके।

 

इसका एक मुख्य आकर्षण फ़ैब्रिक से ज्वेलरी बनाने का डेमो है। इसमें फ़ैब्रिक के वेस्ट (बचे हुए कपड़े) को आकर्षक और उपयोगी उत्पादों में बदलने के क्रिएटिव तरीके दिखाए गए। प्रतिभागियों को आसान अपसाइकिलिंग तकनीकों का इस्तेमाल करके हाथ से बनी फ़ैब्रिक ज्वेलरी का एक पीस बनाने और उसे घर ले जाने का मौका भी मिला। इस गतिविधि का मकसद यह दिखाना था कि कैसे टेक्सटाइल वेस्ट को वैल्यू-एडेड उत्पादों में बदला जा सकता है, साथ ही सर्कुलरिटी और ज़िम्मेदार खपत को बढ़ावा दिया जा सकता है।

 

इस प्रोग्राम में नेचुरल स्किन केयर का डेमो भी था,  जिसमें आसान चीज़ों का इस्तेमाल करके लिप बटर और लिपस्टिक बनाने पर ध्यान दिया गया। इस सेशन ने प्रतिभागियों को आसान, सुलभ और समझदारी भरे तरीकों से रोज़मर्रा के पर्सनल-केयर उत्पाद बनाने की संभावनाओं से परिचित कराएगा।

 

सेमिनार वाला हिस्सा खादी और MSME के ​​मौकों पर केंद्रित था। खादी सेशन में हाथ से सूत कातने का प्रैक्टिकल अनुभव शामिल है, साथ ही खादी के महत्व और इसकी आज भी प्रासंगिकता पर चर्चा हुई। एक और महत्वपूर्ण सेशन प्रतिभागियों को MSME रजिस्ट्रेशन, सरकारी योजनाओं, आर्थिक सहायता और छोटा बिज़नेस शुरू करने या बढ़ाने के मौकों के बारे में जानकारी दी गई।

 

सस्टेनेबिलिटी, क्रिएटिविटी और आजीविका के मौकों को केंद्र में रखते हुए, खादी और अपसाइकिलिंग 2026 यह दिखाना चाहता है कि कैसे पारंपरिक कौशल और नए तरीके ज़िम्मेदार खपत, एंटरप्रेन्योरशिप और व्यक्तिगत सशक्तिकरण में योगदान दे सकते हैं।

 

इस प्रोग्राम को अन्वेषणम फ़ाउंडेशन की डायरेक्टर डॉ. इला मनोज डेडिया ने तैयार किया, जिसमें टेक्सटाइल जगत, जर्नल ऑफ़ टेक्सटाइल एसोसिएशन और टेक्सटाइल वैल्यू चेन मीडिया पार्टनर हैं।

 

यह इवेंट इच्छुक प्रतिभागियों के लिए खुला था। यह स्टूडेंट्स, होममेकर्स, प्रोफेशनल्स, एजुकेटर्स, एंटरप्रेन्योर्स और खादी, सस्टेनेबल फैशन, अपसाइकिलिंग और नेचुरल प्रोडक्ट्स में रुचि रखने वाले किसी भी व्यक्ति के लिए सीखने, अनुभव करने और नई संभावनाओं को तलाशने का एक सार्थक मंच था।

 

कॉलेज ऑफ होम साइंस, निर्मला निकेतन का एलुमनाई एसोसिएशन और अन्वेषणम फाउंडेशन ने इसका आयोजन किया।

टेक्सटाइल जगत, जर्नल ऑफ टेक्सटाइल एसोसिएशन और टेक्सटाइल वैल्यू चेन इसके  मीडिया पार्टनर्स थे।

 

Khadi & Upcycling 2026: Celebrating Tradition, Creativity and Sustainable Living

 

Mumbai:  2026/09/30: The Alumni Association of the College of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan, and the Anveshanam Foundation organized "Khadi and Upcycling 2026 – Seminar and Workshop" on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mary Adelaide D'Souza College Hall, College of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan, Churchgate, Mumbai.

 

The program brought together Khadi, upcycling, natural skincare, and entrepreneurship, designed to bridge traditional knowledge with modern sustainable practices.

 

A key highlight was a demonstration on creating jewelry from fabric, showcasing creative ways to transform fabric waste into attractive and functional products. Participants also had the opportunity to create a piece of handmade fabric jewelry using simple upcycling techniques and take it home. The activity aimed to demonstrate how textile waste can be converted into value-added products while promoting circularity and responsible consumption.

 

The program also featured a natural skincare demonstration, focusing on making lip butter and lipstick using simple ingredients. This session introduced participants to the possibilities of creating everyday personal care products through simple, accessible, and mindful methods.

 

The seminar component focused on Khadi and opportunities within the MSME sector. The Khadi session included a hands-on experience with hand-spinning yarn, alongside discussions on the significance and enduring relevance of Khadi today. In another key session, participants were informed about MSME registration, government schemes, financial assistance, and opportunities to start or expand small businesses.

 

Focusing on sustainability, creativity, and livelihood opportunities, 'Khadi and Upcycling 2026' aims to demonstrate how traditional skills and innovative approaches can contribute to responsible consumption, entrepreneurship, and individual empowerment.

 

The program was curated by Dr. Ila Manoj Dedia, Director of the Anveshanam Foundation, with *Textile Jagat*, the *Journal of the Textile Association*, and *Textile Value Chain* serving as media partners.

 

The event was open to interested participants. It served as a meaningful platform for students, homemakers, professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in Khadi, sustainable fashion, upcycling, and natural products to learn, gain experience, and explore new possibilities.
