भारत अगले साल तक यूरोपीय संघ के साथ एक मुक्त व्यापार समझौता (एफटीए) करने में सक्षम होगा। वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने शुक्रवार को कहा। वे आईएमसी चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स द्वारा आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में बोल रहे थे।

 

श्री गोयल ने कहा कि भारत ने पहले ही यूएई और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के साथ समझौता कर लिया है। वह यूरोपीय संघ, ब्रिटेन, कनाडा और खाड़ी सहयोग परिषद (जीसीसी) सहित अन्य देशों या ब्लॉकों के साथ बातचीत कर रहा है।

 

श्री गोयल ने कहा, "अगले साल तक, हम यूरोपीय संघ के साथ एक एफटीए समाप्त करने में सक्षम होंगे।"  इसके विदेश मंत्री सहित इटली का एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल अभी नई दिल्ली में है, जिसके साथ वह विचार-विमर्श करेंगे। 

 

पहले ही, यूके के साथ तीन दौर की बातचीत हो चुकी है और जल्द ही चौथे दौर की संभावना है। वह 26-27 मई को प्रतिनिधियों से मुलाकात करेंगे।

 

एफटीए भारत में विकास को आगे बढ़ाएंगे और अधिक रोजगार भी पैदा करेंगे। देश अन्य देशों या ब्लॉकों के साथ निष्पक्ष, न्यायसंगत और जीत-जीत साझेदारी की तलाश में है।

 

गोयल ने कहा कि आंकड़ों पर करीब से नज़र डालने से संकेत मिलता है कि भारत उच्च श्रेणी के उत्पादों के लिए एक विनिर्माण केंद्र के रूप में उभर रहा है। देश ने अप्रैल में निर्यात में 38 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर दर्ज किया, जो महीने के लिए सबसे अधिक है।

 

गोयल ने कहा यह इंगित करता है कि प्रदर्शन से जुड़ी प्रोत्साहन योजना और बुनियादी ढांचे को आगे बढ़ाने जैसे कार्यक्रम अपेक्षित परिणाम दे रहे हैं ।

 

मार्च में 1.67 लाख करोड़ रुपये से अधिक के जीएसटी संग्रह की ओर इशारा करते हुए, गोयल ने कहा कि यह बहुत राहत देने वाला है कि आर्थिक गतिविधि विश्लेषकों के समुदाय की अपेक्षाओं से परे है और कहा कि क्रय प्रबंधकों के सूचकांकों में उछाल भी पुनरुद्धार प्रतिबिंबित करता है।

 

गोयल ने कहा कि देश 2021 में 82 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर का प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश आकर्षित कर सकता है, जो अब तक का सबसे अधिक है, क्योंकि यह कानून के शासन, लोकतंत्र और व्यवसायों को आकर्षित करने वाली स्थिर नीतियों जैसे गुणों के साथ स्थिरता के द्वीप के रूप में उभरा है।

India will be able to conclude a free trade agreement (FTA) with the European Union by next year. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday said Speaking at an event organised by the IMC Chamber of Commerce.

 

Goyal said the country has already sealed pacts with the UAE and Australia, and is in negotiations with other countries or blocs including the EU, UK, Canada and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

 

"By next year, we would be able to conclude an FTA with the EU," Goyal said, adding that a delegation from Italy including its foreign minister is in New Delhi now with which he will be having deliberations. 

 

Already, three rounds of negotiations have been held with the UK and there is a possibility of a fourth round soon, Goyal said, adding that he will be meeting the representatives on May 26-27.

 

The FTAs will push growth in India and create more jobs as well, Goyal said, making it clear that the country is looking for fair, equitable and win-win partnerships with other countries or blocs. 

 

Goyal said that a closer look at the numbers indicates that India is emerging as a manufacturing hub for high-class products. The country recorded USD 38 billion in exports in April, the highest for the month. 

 

This indicates that programmes like the performance linked incentive scheme and the infrastructure push are bearing the expected results, Goyal said.

 

Pointing to GST collections of over Rs 1.67 lakh crore in March, Goyal said it is very redeeming that the economic activity is back beyond the expectations of the analysts' community and added that the surge in purchasing managers' indices is also reflective of the same revival.

 

Goyal said the country could attract foreign direct investment of USD 82 billion in 2021, its highest ever, because it has emerged as an isle of stability with virtues like rule of law, democracy and stable policies which attract businesses.
