Assam ban rattles Surat’s power loom industry।। असम में प्रतिबंध से सूरत के पावरलूम उद्योग में खलबली

 

सूरत: 2023/03/06: असम सरकार द्वारा पावर लूम निर्मित मेखला सदोर और गामूसा की बिक्री पर प्रतिबंध के बाद सूरत के पावरलूम बुनकरों में दहशत फैल गई है। फेडरेशन ऑफ सूरत टेक्सटाइल ट्रेडर्स एसोसिएशन (FOSTA) के महासचिव चंपालाल बोथरा ने कहा।

 

सूरत काफी समय से असम का एक प्रमुख आपूर्तिकर्ता रहा है, जो उत्तर पूर्वी राज्य की खपत का 60% से अधिक आपूर्ति करता है।

 

श्री बोथरा ने कहा कि एक ओर अचानक प्रतिबंध से लगभग 700 से 800 व्यापारियों और 300 से 400 बुनकरों के साथ-साथ सूरत में मेखला सदोर का उत्पादन करने वाले करघे से जुड़े मजदूरों पर असर पड़ेगा, जिसका सालाना कारोबार लगभग 3,000 करोड़ है।

 

उन्होंने कहा कि असम के कई व्यापारी जिन्होंने पहले से उत्पादित माल का स्टॉक कर रखा था, अब उसे वापस करने पर विचार कर रहे हैं। ऐसे में यह हमारे लिए दोहरी मार है। हम वस्त्र राज्य मंत्री दर्शना जरदोश से मिले हैं और उन्होंने हमारी बात सुनी है। लेकिन अभी तक कोई स्पष्ट समाधान नहीं निकला है।

Assam ban rattles Surat’s power loom industry

 

Surtat: 2023/03/06:  Panic has set in among the power looms weavers in Surat following the ban on the sale of power loom-manufactured Mekhela Sador and Gamusa by the Assam government. The general secretary of the Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTA), Champalal Bothra said.

 

Surat has been a major supplier to Assam for quite some time, making for over 60% of the North Eastern state’s consumption.

 

Shri Bothra said that the sudden ban on one hand, will impact around 700 to 800 traders and 300 to 400 weavers along with the labourers associated with the looms producing Mekhala Sador in Surat that has a turnover of around 3,000 crore annually.

 

He added that many traders in Assam who had stocked the already produced goods are now looking at returning the same. So, it is a double-whammy for us. We have met Darshana Jardosh, MoS Textiles, and she has heard us out. But there has been no clear resolution so far.
