मुंबई: 28/04/2026: PDEXCIL के चेयरमैन के. शक्तिवेल ने इस ऐतिहासिक FTA की सराहना करते हुए इसे भारत के पावरलूम और कपड़ा उद्योग के लिए एक परिवर्तनकारी अवसर बताया है। भारत ने आज प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी के दूरदर्शी नेतृत्व में न्यूज़ीलैंड के साथ एक ऐतिहासिक मुक्त व्यापार समझौता (FTA) किया है। यह भारतीय व्यापार के लिए एक निर्णायक क्षण है और देश के पावरलूम तथा कपड़ा क्षेत्र के लिए एक ज़बरदस्त अवसर है।

 

यह समझौता भारतीय निर्यातकों को सभी टैरिफ लाइनों पर 100% शुल्क-मुक्त पहुँच प्रदान करता है। इससे पावरलूम कपड़ों, घरेलू वस्त्रों, मेड-अप्स और परिधानों के लिए न्यूज़ीलैंड के बाज़ारों तक बिना किसी बाधा के पहुँचने के नए और व्यापक रास्ते खुल गए हैं। वस्तुओं के अलावा, यह FTA सेवाओं, गतिशीलता, शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य सेवा और पारंपरिक चिकित्सा के क्षेत्रों में भी आशाजनक नए रास्ते खोलता है। इसके साथ ही, न्यूज़ीलैंड की ओर से लंबी अवधि में 20 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर के निवेश की प्रतिबद्धता भारत के औद्योगिक विकास, नवाचार, बुनियादी ढाँचे के विकास और प्रमुख क्षेत्रों में रोज़गार सृजन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए तैयार है।

 

भारत-न्यूज़ीलैंड FTA भारत सरकार द्वारा उठाया गया एक साहसी और दूरदर्शी कदम है। हमारे पावरलूम उद्योग के लिए—जो भारत के कपड़ा निर्यातकों की रीढ़ है—यह समझौता वास्तव में एक बड़ी सफलता है। 100% शुल्क-मुक्त पहुँच का अर्थ है कि हमारे बुनकर, निर्माता और निर्यातक अब अधिक आत्मविश्वास और प्रतिस्पर्धात्मकता के साथ न्यूज़ीलैंड के बाज़ारों तक पहुँच सकते हैं। मुझे विशेष रूप से इस बात से प्रोत्साहन मिला है कि भारत ने अपने मूल हितों की रक्षा के लिए दृढ़ता दिखाई है, जो इस बात को दर्शाता है कि यह समझौता महत्वाकांक्षी होने के साथ-साथ ज़िम्मेदार भी है। न्यूज़ीलैंड की 20 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर की दीर्घकालिक प्रतिबद्धता भारत की विकास गाथा में उनके गहरे विश्वास को और भी अधिक रेखांकित करती है। PDEXCIL और हमारा पूरा पावरलूम समुदाय इस ऐतिहासिक समझौते का पूरे दिल से स्वागत करता है, और हम अपने निर्यातकों, अपने बुनकरों तथा राष्ट्र के लिए इसकी पूरी क्षमता का लाभ उठाने में अपना पूर्ण समर्थन देने का संकल्प लेते हैं।

India has signed a historic Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with New Zealand today under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji making a defining moment for Indian trade and a tremendous opportunity for the country’s powerloom and textile sector.

 

The agreement grants 100% duty-free access for Indian exporters across all tariff lines, opening new and wide-ranging avenues for powerloom fabrics, home textiles, made-ups and apparel to reach New Zealand’s markets without barrier. Beyond goods, the FTA unlock promising new pathways in services, mobility, education, healthcare, traditional medicine and New Zealand’s commitment of USD 20 billion over the long term is set to fuelIndia’s industrial growth, innovation, infrastructure development and job creation across key sectors.

 

The India-New Zealand FTA is a bold and visionary step by the Government of India. For our powerloomindustry-the backbone of India’s textile exporters-this agreement is a true breakthrough.
