India, US in course to execute 1st tranche of trade pact by mid-July !! भारत और अमेरिका जुलाई के बीच तक ट्रेड एग्रीमेंट का पहला हिस्सा लागू करने की राह पर

 

भारतीय वाणिज्य मंत्री पीयूष गोयल, जिन्होंने अमेरिका की बातचीत करने वाली टीम से मुलाकात की, ने संकेत दिया कि समझौते के ज़्यादातर पहलुओं को अंतिम रूप दे दिया गया है और दोनों पक्षों ने उम्मीद जताई है।

 

हालांकि, कुछ अहम मुद्दे अभी भी अनसुलझे हैं, जिनमें अमेरिका के टैरिफ प्रस्ताव और 'सेक्शन 301' जांच से जुड़ी कार्रवाई से भारत को राहत दिलाने की मांग शामिल है।

 

इस बातचीत का नेतृत्व अमेरिकी व्यापार प्रतिनिधि (USTR) के सहायक ब्रेंडन लिंच और भारत के वाणिज्य विभाग में अतिरिक्त सचिव दर्पण जैन ने किया।

 

वाणिज्य मंत्रालय के एक बयान में कहा गया है कि दोनों पक्षों ने "व्यापार, गैर-टैरिफ उपायों, सीमा शुल्क और व्यापार सुगमता, आर्थिक सुरक्षा तालमेल और आपसी हित के अन्य क्षेत्रों सहित कई मुद्दों पर रचनात्मक और सकारात्मक चर्चा" की।

 

भारतीय मीडिया आउटलेट्स के अनुसार, विशाखापत्तनम में गोयल ने कहा, "हम सभी अधूरे मुद्दों को सुलझाने की दिशा में तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ रहे हैं, और मुझे लगता है कि अगले महीने के मध्य तक हम द्विपक्षीय व्यापार समझौते के एक बहुत ही प्रभावी पहले हिस्से को लागू करने की स्थिति में होंगे।"

 

उन्होंने कहा कि जून के आखिर में अमेरिका की एक और टीम के भारत आने की संभावना है।

 

हालांकि, 2 जून को, जिस दिन नई दिल्ली में बातचीत शुरू हुई, USTR ने 'सेक्शन 301' के तहत जबरन श्रम (forced labour) की जांच के सिलसिले में भारत समेत 54 देशों पर 12.5 प्रतिशत अतिरिक्त शुल्क लगाने का प्रस्ताव रखा।

 

भारत के प्रतिस्पर्धियों पाकिस्तान और इंडोनेशिया के लिए प्रस्तावित दर सिर्फ़ 10 प्रतिशत है, और इससे कपड़ा उद्योग समेत भारत के कई औद्योगिक क्षेत्रों को नुकसान हो सकता है।

 

India, US in course to execute 1st tranche of trade pact by mid-July

New Delhi : 2026/06/09: After talks in New Delhi, India and the United States said they are in the course to execute the first tranche of a bilateral trade agreement by mid-July.

 

Most aspects of the agreement have been finalised, with both sides expressing optimism, Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, who met the visiting US negotiating team, indicated.

 

However, key sticking points, including US tariff proposals and India's push for relief from actions related to Section 301 investigations, remain unresolved.

 

The talks were led by Assistant US Trade Representative (USTR) Brendan Lynch and India’s additional secretary in the department of commerce Darpan Jain.

 

The two sides had held “constructive and positive discussions across a wide range of issues covering trade in goods, non-tariff measures, customs and trade facilitation, economic security alignment and other areas of mutual interest,” a commerce ministry statement said.

 

“We are fast moving towards closing all the open ends, and I think sometime by the middle of next month or so, we should be in a position to execute a very, very vibrant first tranche of the bilateral trade agreement,” Goyal was quoted as saying in Visakhapatnam by Indian media outlets.

He said another US team is likely to visit India at the end of June.

 

However, on June 2, the day on which the talks began in New Delhi, the USTR proposed levying an additional duty of 12.5 per cent on 54 countries, including India, under its Section 301 forced labour investigation.

 

The proposed rate for India’s competitors Pakistan and Indonesia is only 10 per cent, and this may put many Indian industrial sectors, including textiles, at a disadvantage.
