मुंबई: 2022/11/26: कपड़ा निर्माता अरविंद लिमिटेड और अमेरिका स्थित PurFi Global LLC ने बेकार में जाने वाले कपड़ा कचरे की मात्रा को कम करने के उद्देश्य से एक संयुक्त उद्यम स्थापित करने की घोषणा की। यह सोमवार, 20 नवंबर को एक संयुक्त बयान में कहा गया था।

 

संयुक्त उद्यम कपड़ा परिपत्र में कहा गया है कि यह कपड़ा अपशिष्ट समस्या का मुकाबला करेगा। भारत में अरविंद के पास अपनी पहली फाइबर कायाकल्प सुविधा स्थापित करने की योजना है।

 

PurFi की तकनीक एक गोलाकार समाधान बनाती है। यह कपड़े के कचरे को नए गुणवत्ता वाले फाइबर में बदल देती है।

 

यह दो प्रकार से पुन: उपयोग के लिए सफेद सूती, रंगीन कपास, डेनिम और सिंथेटिक्स - को शुद्ध फाइबर में संसोधित करेगा। अगले पांच वर्षों में इसको विस्तार  करने की योजना योजना है। इसके साथ प्रत्येक प्रकार में प्रति वर्ष 5,500 टन क्षमता होगी। इन दो किस्‍मों के लिए 200-250 करोड़ रुपये के निवेश की परिकल्पना की गई है।

 

कपड़ा उद्योग सालाना 64 बिलियन पाउंड से अधिक का पोस्ट-इंडस्ट्रियल टेक्सटाइल वेस्ट और 284 बिलियन पाउंड का पोस्ट-कंज्यूमर टेक्सटाइल वेस्ट पैदा करता है। फिर भी वैश्विक स्तर पर केवल 12 प्रतिशत वस्त्रों का पुनर्चक्रण किया जाता है, और लगभग एक प्रतिशत का उच्‍च र्चक्रण(upcycled) किया जाता है।

 

अरविंद के कार्यकारी निदेशक पुनीत लालभाई ने कहा कि यह साझेदारी न केवल कपड़ा कचरे के मुद्दे से निपटने के लिए एक अभिनव समाधान प्रदान करेगी बल्कि कपड़ा निर्माण में वृद्धि और असाधारण रूप से कम पर्यावरणीय प्रभाव पर मौलिक रूप से सही होने के हमारे आदर्श वाक्य को भी मजबूत करेगी।

Mumbai: 2022/11/26: Textiles manufacturer Arvind Ltd and US-based PurFi Global LLC announced the setting up of a joint venture with an aim to reduce the amount of textile waste going to landfills. It was said in a joint statement on Monday , November 20.

 

The joint venture will combat the textile waste problem in textile circularity. It has plans to set up its first fibre rejuvenation facility near one of Arvind's manufacturing facilities in India.

 

PurFi's technology creates a circular solution that rejuvenates textile waste into virgin quality fibres, it added.

 

This will process textile wastes -- white cotton, coloured cotton, denim and synthetics -- into virgin-like fibres for reuse from two lines. Each line will have a 5,500-tonne capacity per year with plans to expand over the next five years. "The investment for these two lines is envisaged at Rs 200-250 crore," it said.

 

The textile industry generates more than 64 billion pounds of post-industrial textile waste and 284 billion pounds of post-consumer textile waste annually. Yet only 12 per cent of textiles globally are recycled, and about one per cent are upcycled.

 

Arvind Executive Director Punit Lalbhai said: "This partnership will not only provide an innovative solution to deal with the issue of textile waste but will also strengthen our motto of being fundamentally right. We look forward to working with these technologies to fuel the next set of growth in textile manufacturing and at the exceptionally less environmental impact."
