तिरुपुर: 2023/03/05: तमिलनाडु में भारत का बुना हुआ कपड़ा हब तिरुपुर पुनरुद्धार के पथ पर प्रतीत होता है। निर्यातकों ने जनवरी में दर्ज की गई सकारात्मक वृद्धि पर अपनी गति जारी रखने की उम्मीद जताई है। तिरुप्पुर एक्सपोर्टर्स एसोसिएशन ने खुलासा किया।

 

2022 में तीन महीने की औसत नकारात्मक वृद्धि दर्ज की गई। यह 24 प्रतिशत थी। यह विभिन्न यूरोपीय देशों में कोविड-19 महामारी की पुनरावृत्ति और रूस-यूक्रेन संघर्ष के कारण भी काफी हद तक प्रभावित थी। यहाँ तक कि इन दो मुद्दों ने एक विशेष टी-शर्ट के उपयोग के यूरोपीय लोगों के पैटर्न को भी बदल दिया।

 

जुलाई और दिसंबर 2022 के बीच निर्यात में कमी आई। तीन महीने की औसत नकारात्मक वृद्धि 24 फीसदी लगती है। हालांकि जनवरी से इसमें मामूली बढ़ोतरी हुई है।

 

विभिन्न यूरोपीय देशों में पिछले साल फैले कोरोनावायरस की एक और लहर के कारण निर्यात काफी हद तक प्रभावित हुआ। रूस-यूक्रेन संघर्ष ने भी व्यापार को झटका दिया। कई यूरोपीय राष्ट्रों ने मुद्रास्फीति में वृद्धि और आवश्यक वस्तुओं में वृद्धि के बाद खर्च करने पर सतर्क रहना पसंद किया।  इससे शहर के बड़े पैमाने पर निर्यात पर निर्भर निटवेअर इकाइयां प्रभावित हुईं।

 

तिरुप्पुर राज्य की राजधानी चेन्नई से लगभग 400 किमी दूर स्थित है। अपने पड़ोस में युद्ध के मद्देनजर, कई यूरोपीय देश उच्च मुद्रास्फीति, ईंधन, बिजली और मुख्य रूप से आवश्यक वस्तुओं की कीमतों में वृद्धि का सामना कर रहे हैं। उच्च मुद्रास्फीति के कारण बड़ी संख्या में यूरोपीय लोगों ने खरीदारी करना बंद कर दिया है, जिसके कारण मालसूची की निकासी भी नहीं हो पाई है। उदाहरण के लिए, यूरोप में एक व्यक्ति एक नई टी-शर्ट लेने से पहले तीन या चार बार टी-शर्ट पहनता है।

 

इस औद्योगिक क्षेत्र में बड़े व्यापारी सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यम इकाइयां हैं। वे काफी हद तक यूरोप के ऑर्डर पर निर्भर हैं। वे बड़े पैमाने पर महामारी और रूस-यूक्रेन संघर्ष के कारण हुए प्रभाव के कारण प्रभावित हुए थे। अब उद्योग में जनवरी में 1.5 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि के साथ एक सकारात्मक संकेत है।

 

जनवरी में सकारात्मक माहौल में वापसी करने के बाद निटवेअर उद्योग में आने वाले महीनों में अच्छे कारोबार की उम्मीद है। आमतौर पर कताई मिलें कम मांग के कारण सप्ताह में दो या तीन दिन काम करना बंद कर देती हैं।  लेकिन अब परिचालन में तेजी देखी जा रही है।

बढ़ती मांग के कारण अब कताई मिलें दैनिक आधार पर संचालित की जा रही हैं। यह निर्यात के लिए सकारात्मक संकेत है।

 

USD के संदर्भ में तिरुपुर से निटवेअर निर्यात 1.5 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 413 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर (जनवरी 2023 में) हो गया। देश से कुल निटवेअर निर्यात जनवरी 2022 में 744 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर के मुकाबले दिसंबर 2022 में 0.9 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 751 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर हो गया। उसे, यूरोप और अमेरिका के अधिकांश निर्यात ऑर्डर मिलते हैं।

 

यूरोप और अमेरिका से ऑर्डर आने शुरू हो गए हैं। इसमें पूर्व का हिस्सा 60 फीसदी है। जनवरी में यह ग्रोथ एक्सपोर्ट पर 1.5 फीसदी की ग्रोथ दर्ज की गई है। यह पिछले साल की समान अवधि की तुलना में बहुत बड़ी छलांग नहीं है। लेकिन यह श्रम-गहन क्षेत्र की तलाश में चीजों को लेकर आशान्वित लग रहा था।

 

2021-22 में अखिल भारतीय निटवेअर निर्यात 49,443 करोड़ रुपये रहा। इसी अवधि के दौरान तिरुपुर से यह 26,923 करोड़ रुपये था। 2022-23 में, तिरुपुर जिले से 29,643 करोड़ रुपये के मुकाबले अखिल भारतीय निटवेअर निर्यात 53,586 करोड़ रुपये था। तिरुपुर में 6000 से अधिक इकाइयां निटवेअर, सिलाई, रंगाई, कढ़ाई में लगी हुई हैं। बुना हुआ कपड़ा 70 प्रतिशत से अधिक है और लगभग 5 लाख लोग कार्यरत हैं।

Knitwear hub Tiruppur seems to be on the path of revival

 

Tiruppur: 2023/03/05: India's knitwear hub Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu seems to be on the path of revival, with exporters pinning hopes on the positive growth recorded in January to continue its momentum. Tiruppur Exporters Association revealed.

 

Three-month average negative growth recorded in 2022. It  was at 24 percent as it was largely impacted by the recurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic in various European countries and also due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. So much so the two issues even altered the Europeans' pattern of using a particular T-Shirt.

 

Exports came down between July and December 2022. The three-month average negative growth seems to be 24 percent. However, from January it has increased marginally.

 

Exports were largely impacted due to another wave of coronavirus spread last year in various European countries. The Russia-Ukraine conflict also dealt a blow to the trade as several European nations preferred to remain cautious on making expenses following a surge in inflation and a rise in essential commodities, impacting the largely export-dependent knitwear units of the town.

 

Tiruppur is located about 400 km from the state capital Chennai. In the wake of the war in their neighborhood, several European countries are experiencing higher inflation, and an increase in prices of fuel, power, and mainly essential commodities. A large number of Europeans have stopped making purchases due to high inflation, which also led to the non-clearance of inventories. For instance, a person in Europe wears a t-shirt three or four times before going in for a new one.

 

Since large traders in this industrial belt are micro, small, and medium enterprises units, they largely depend on orders from Europe. They were largely hit due to the impact caused by the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Now there is a positive sign with the industry witnessing a 1.5 percent growth in January.

 

 After bouncing back to positive sentiment in January, the knitwear industry is expected to witness good business in the coming months. Normally, spinning mills stop functioning for two or three days in a week due to low demand but the operations are seeing an uptick now.

Now, spinning mills are being operated on a daily basis because of rising demand.  This is a positive sign for exports.

 

Knitwear exports from Tiruppur in USD terms grew 1.5 percent at USD 413 million (in January 2023) while overall knitwear exports from the country grew by 0.9 percent at USD 751 million in December 2022 as against USD 744 million in January 2022. Europe and the US account for the majority of the export orders.

 

Orders have started to come in from Europe and the United States. The former accounting for 60 percent of this. The growth in January is 1.5 percent growth recorded on exports. It is not a huge jump compared to the same period last year. But it seemed hopeful over things looking up for the labor-intensive sector.

 

The all-India knitwear exports in 2021-22 stood at Rs 49,443 crore. It was Rs 26,923 crore from Tiruppur during the same period.  In 2022-23, all India knitwear exports were at Rs 53,586 crore as against Rs 29,643 crore from Tiruppur district. In Tiruppur, more than 6000 units are engaged in knitwear, stitching, dyeing, and embroidery. Knitwear accounts for more than 70 percent and nearly 5 lakh people are employed.
