India's MSME ministry, DPIIT join hands to expand GI market access।।GI मार्केट तक पहुँच बढ़ाने के लिए भारत के MSME मंत्रालय और DPIIT ने हाथ मिलाया

नई दिल्ली: 11/08/2026: भारत के सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यम मंत्रालय (MSME) और वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय के तहत उद्योग और आंतरिक व्यापार संवर्धन विभाग (DPIIT) ने भारतीय भौगोलिक संकेत (GI) उत्पादों के कमर्शियलाइज़ेशन, क्वालिटी स्टैंडर्डाइज़ेशन और मार्केट तक पहुँच को तेज़ करने के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

संयुक्त पहलों के तहत, दोनों संगठन 'एक ज़िला एक उत्पाद' (ODOP) को प्रोग्राम डिज़ाइन और हस्तक्षेपों में शामिल करने के लिए काम करेंगे। सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यम मंत्रालय ने एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में कहा कि वे 'भारत GI' बैनर के तहत GI कलेक्टिव्स और अधिकृत यूज़र्स को ओपन नेटवर्क फॉर डिजिटल कॉमर्स (ONDC) और गवर्नमेंट ई-मार्केटप्लेस (GeM) से जोड़ने में भी मदद करेंगे।

 

इस MoU पर हाल ही में नई दिल्ली के वाणिज्य भवन में MSME मंत्रालय के निदेशक मो. सालिक परवेज़ और DPIIT के IPR डिवीज़न के निदेशक करण थापर ने दोनों संगठनों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की मौजूदगी में हस्ताक्षर किए। इस फ्रेमवर्क का उद्देश्य GI उत्पादों को स्थानीय शिल्प से बड़े पैमाने पर चलने वाले, कमर्शियली फायदेमंद और एक्सपोर्ट के लिए तैयार उद्यमों में बदलने में मदद करना है।

 

इस सहयोग में राष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ट्रेड एक्सपो, बायर-सेलर मीट और GI उत्पादों की घरेलू और वैश्विक मार्केटिंग के लिए प्रदर्शनियों में खास GI पवेलियन को को-स्पॉन्सर करना भी शामिल है। कारीगरों, बुनकरों और उत्पादक समूहों के लिए, मुख्य फोकस क्षमता निर्माण, डिजिटल सक्षमता और प्रीमियम घरेलू और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाज़ारों तक बेहतर पहुँच पर है।

 

यह MoU बौद्धिक संपदा सुरक्षा के लिए DPIIT के काम को MSME मंत्रालय की उद्यम-विकास भूमिका के साथ जोड़ता है। इससे भारत के GI इकोसिस्टम को मज़बूत करने और व्यापक 'आत्मनिर्भर भारत' और 'वोकल फॉर लोकल' विज़न को समर्थन मिलने की भी उम्मीद है।

 

DPIIT, 'गुड्स (रजिस्ट्रेशन और प्रोटेक्शन) एक्ट, 1999' के तहत भारत में GI के रजिस्ट्रेशन और कानूनी सुरक्षा के लिए नोडल विभाग है, जबकि MSME मंत्रालय देश भर में सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यमों, पारंपरिक उद्योगों और कारीगरों की वृद्धि, वित्तीय सेहत और विकास का काम देखता है।

New Delhi: 2026/08/11: India’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the commercialisation, quality standardisation and market access of Indian Geographical Indication (GI) products.

Under the joint initiatives, the two organisations will work to integrate One District One Product (ODOP) into programme design and interventions. They will also facilitate onboarding of GI collectives and authorised users onto the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and Government e-Marketplace (GeM) under a dedicated ‘Bharat GI’ banner, the Ministry of Micro,Small & Medium Enterprises said in a press release.

 

The MoU was signed recently at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, by Md. Salik Parwaiz, director, Ministry of MSME, and Karan Thapar, director, IPR Division, DPIIT, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations. The framework is aimed at helping GI products move from localised crafts into scalable, commercially viable and export-ready enterprises.

 

The collaboration also covers co-sponsoring dedicated GI pavilions at national and international trade expos, buyer-seller meets and exhibitions for domestic and global marketing of GI products. For artisan, weaver and producer collectives, the stated focus is on capacity building, digital enablement and stronger access to premium domestic and international markets.

 

The MoU aligns DPIIT’s mandate for intellectual property protection with the Ministry of MSME’s enterprise-development role. It is also expected to strengthen India’s GI ecosystem and support the wider Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal for Local vision.

 

DPIIT is the nodal department for registration and legal protection of GIs in India under the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999, while the Ministry of MSME steers the growth, financial health and development of micro, small and medium enterprises, traditional industries and artisans across the country.
