मुंबई: 17 जनवरी 2023:  भारतीय उद्योग परिसंघ (CII) का व्यापार विश्वास सूचकांक पिछले साल अक्टूबर-दिसंबर तिमाही में 67.6 पर पहुंच गया। यह दो वर्षों में सबसे अधिक है। इसके पिछली तिमाही में यह 62.2 था। सीआईआई के एक बयान में कहा गया है।

  

संभावित मंदी और भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था पर इसके प्रभाव के बारे में चिंताओं को कम करने से सूचकांक के मूल्य में तेजी से  सुधार हुआ है।

 

सीआईआई ने कहा कि कड़ी वित्तीय स्थिति और वैश्विक स्तर पर भू-राजनीतिक तनाव के बावजूद, लगभग 73 प्रतिशत सर्वेक्षण उत्तरदाताओं ने भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था पर वैश्विक मंदी के केवल मध्यम प्रभाव की उम्मीद की।

 

86 प्रतिशत का मानना है कि बुनियादी ढांचे पर सरकार का ध्यान भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था के लिए सबसे बड़ा सकारात्मक है।  इसके बाद कर संग्रह में सुधार हुआ और अच्छी वसूली हुई है।

 

“वैश्विक प्रतिकूलताओं के कारण अगले वर्ष वृद्धि में और नरमी आने की उम्मीद है… इसलिए, विकास को समर्थन देने के लिए, यह महत्वपूर्ण है कि आरबीआई [भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक] ब्याज दरों को और अधिक बढ़ाने से परहेज करे। अप्रत्याशित रूप से, 47 प्रतिशत ने संकेत दिया है कि वे पहले से ही समग्र आर्थिक गतिविधि पर आरबीआई द्वारा नीतिगत दरों में बढ़ोतरी के प्रभाव को महसूस करना शुरू कर चुके हैं।

Mumbai: 17 Jan 20'23: The Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) business confidence index hit 67.6 for the October-December quarter last year—its highest in two years—compared to 62.2 in the previous quarter. “The sharp improvement in the value of the index was buttressed by subsiding concerns around the impending recession and its impact on the Indian economy,” a CII statement said.

 

Despite tightening financial conditions and geopolitical tensions globally, around 73 per cent of the survey respondents expected only a moderate impact of the global slowdown on the Indian economy, CII said.

 

Eighty-six per cent believe that the government’s focus on infrastructure is the biggest positive for the Indian economy, followed by the improvement in tax collections and good consumption recovery.

 

“Growth is expected to moderate further in the next year on global headwinds….Hence, to support growth, it is critical that the RBI [Reserve Bank of India] refrains from raising the interest rates any further. Unsurprisingly, 47 per cent have indicated that they have already started feeling the impact of the policy rate hikes by the RBI on the overall economic activity,” said the statement, adding that high interest rates have impinged on private investment levels as well.

 

“In addition to high borrowing costs, the prevailing heightened uncertainty has prevented firms from furthering their investment plans. The survey results, however, presents an encouraging prognosis with nearly all the respondents (90 per cent) feeling that their company’s investment cycle will recover during the next financial year,” it said.

 

Policymakers have focused on the rural economy, which took a significant hit especially after the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and the more recent spike in inflation, respondents felt.

 

“It is encouraging to note that given its bearing on the overall economy, a recovery in the rural demand is eagerly awaited and about 60 per cent of the respondents feel that a pick-up in rural consumption will take place in the next fiscal,” CII added.
