नई दिल्ली : प्रस्तावित द्विपक्षीय मुक्त व्यापार समझौते (एफटीए) को लेकर यूनाइटेड किंगडम और भारत के बीच बातचीत अग्रिम चरण में है और दोनों पक्ष शेष मुद्दों पर मतभेदों को सुलझाने में व्यस्त हैं। भारत के वाणिज्य सचिव सुनील बर्थवाल ने कहा।

 

एफटीए पर 14वें दौर की वार्ता 10 जनवरी को शुरू हुई थी। अधिकारी ने कहा, बातचीत में समय लग रहा है क्योंकि भारत अपने हितों की रक्षा करना चाहता है।

 

उन्होंने कहा, "भारत को व्यावसायिक रूप से इससे लाभ उठाना चाहिए और हमें अपने किसानों, पीएलआई (उत्पादन से जुड़े प्रोत्साहन) योजना के सामान के हितों की रक्षा करने में भी सक्षम होना चाहिए। इसलिए, हम यह देखने के लिए वहां हैं कि यह सौदा एक उचित सौदा है।"

 

वित्त वर्ष 2022-23 में भारत-ब्रिटेन व्यापार बढ़कर 20.36 बिलियन डॉलर हो गया, जो वित्त वर्ष 2021-22 में 17.5 बिलियन डॉलर था।

 

नियोजित भारत-यूरोपीय संघ (ईयू) एफटीए पर सातवें दौर की वार्ता 19 से 23 फरवरी तक नई दिल्ली में होने वाली है।

 

मंत्रालय में अतिरिक्त सचिव राजेश अग्रवाल ने कहा कि समृद्धि के लिए भारत-प्रशांत आर्थिक ढांचे (आईपीईएफ) पर, स्वच्छ और निष्पक्ष अर्थव्यवस्था खंड पर पाठ की कानूनी जांच चल रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि आपूर्ति श्रृंखला लचीलापन समझौता इस साल 24 फरवरी से लागू होगा।

New Delhi : Talks between the United Kingdom and India regarding a proposed bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) are at an advanced stage, and both sides are busy sorting out differences on the remaining issues. India’s commerce secretary Sunil Barthwal said.

 

The 14th round of talks on the FTA started on January 10. The negotiations are taking time as India wants to safeguard its interests, the official said.

 

"India should commercially gain out of it and we should also be able to safeguard the interest of our farmers, PLI (production linked incentive) scheme goods. So, we are there to see that the deal is a fair deal," he told in New Delhi.

 

India-UK trade rose to $20.36 billion in fiscal 2022-23 from $17.5 billion in fiscal 2021-22.

 

The seventh round of talks on the planned India-European Union (EU) FTA is scheduled from February 19 to 23 in New Delhi.

 

On the India-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF), legal scrubbing of the text on clean and fair economy clauses is under way, additional secretary in the ministry Rajesh Agrawal said. The supply chain resilience pact will come into force from February 24 this year, he added.
