नई दिल्ली: 2026/02/22: प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और राष्ट्रपति लुइज़ इनासियो लूला डा सिल्वा के बीच नई दिल्ली में डेलीगेशन लेवल की बातचीत के बाद, भारत और ब्राज़ील ने अगले पांच सालों में बाइलेटरल ट्रेड को $20 बिलियन से ज़्यादा बढ़ाने का वादा किया है।

 

नेताओं ने ज़रूरी मिनरल, टेक्नोलॉजी, डिफ़ेंस, हेल्थ और डिजिटल पब्लिक इंफ़्रास्ट्रक्चर समेत अलग-अलग सेक्टर में सहयोग का रिव्यू किया, साथ ही स्ट्रेटेजिक पार्टनरशिप और ग्लोबल साउथ सहयोग को मज़बूत करने के मकसद से दस एग्रीमेंट किए।

 

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने ब्राज़ील के राष्ट्रपति के साथ एक जॉइंट प्रेस स्टेटमेंट में कहा, “ब्राज़ील लैटिन अमेरिका में भारत का सबसे बड़ा ट्रेड पार्टनर है। हम अगले पांच सालों में अपने बाइलेटरल ट्रेड को $20 बिलियन से ज़्यादा तक बढ़ाने का वादा करते हैं। हमारा ट्रेड सिर्फ़ एक आंकड़ा नहीं है, बल्कि भरोसे की झलक भी है। (ब्राज़ील के) राष्ट्रपति के साथ बड़े बिज़नेस डेलीगेशन का आना इस भरोसे को दिखाता है।” इसके अलावा, भारत के कॉमर्स और इंडस्ट्री मिनिस्टर पीयूष गोयल ने नई दिल्ली में इंडिया-ब्राज़ील बिज़नेस फ़ोरम के प्लेनरी सेशन को संबोधित किया, जिसमें उन्होंने भारत और ब्राज़ील के बीच अलग-अलग सेक्टर में बढ़ते सहयोग पर ज़ोर दिया। पिछले साल दोनों देशों के बीच ट्रेड में 25 परसेंट की बढ़ोतरी और $15 बिलियन तक पहुँचने का ज़िक्र करते हुए, उन्होंने मौजूदा लेवल को बहुत कम बताया और दोनों देशों के बीच आर्थिक जुड़ाव को और मज़बूत करने के लिए और ज़्यादा कोशिश करने की बात कही।

 

उन्होंने MERCOSUR रीजन की अहमियत पर ज़ोर दिया और कहा कि भारत, मार्केट एक्सेस बढ़ाने, इन्वेस्टमेंट को बढ़ावा देने, टेक्नोलॉजी पार्टनरशिप को बढ़ावा देने और स्पोर्ट्स, एजुकेशन और कल्चर में जुड़ाव को मज़बूत करने के लिए इंडिया-MERCOSUR प्रेफ़रेंशियल ट्रेड एग्रीमेंट को बढ़ाने पर काम कर रहा है।

New Delhi: 2026/02/22: India and Brazil have expressed commitment to raise bilateral trade beyond $20 billion within the next five years following delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in New Delhi.

 

The leaders reviewed cooperation across sectors including critical minerals, technology, defence, health and digital public infrastructure, while exchanging ten agreements aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership and Global South collaboration.

 

“Brazil is India’s largest trade partner in Latin America. We are committed to increase our bilateral trade to more than $20 billion over the next five years. Our trade is not just a figure, but also a reflection of trust. The arrival of large business delegation along with the (Brazilian) President shows this trust,” Prime Minister Modi said during a joint press statement with the President of Brazil.

 

Separately, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal addressed the Plenary Session of the India–Brazil Business Forum in New Delhi, highlighting the expanding cooperation between India and Brazil across sectors. Referring to the growth in bilateral trade by 25 per cent in the past year to reach $15 billion, he described the current level as suboptimal and called for greater ambition in further strengthening economic engagement between the two countries.

 

He underlined the importance of the MERCOSUR region and stated that India is working to expand the India–MERCOSUR Preferential Trade Agreement to enhance market access, promote investments, foster technology partnerships and strengthen engagement in sports, education and culture.
