India's textile ministry, ICRIER sign MoU for policy research !! भारत के कपड़ा मंत्रालय और ICRIER ने नीति अनुसंधान के लिए MoU पर हस्ताक्षर किए

 

नई दिल्ली: 16/05/2026: भारत सरकार के कपड़ा मंत्रालय (MoT) ने कपड़ा क्षेत्र के लिए साक्ष्य-आधारित और विश्लेषणात्मक रूप से संचालित नीतियों के विकास में सहायता के लिए 'इंडियन काउंसिल फॉर रिसर्च ऑन इंटरनेशनल इकोनॉमिक रिलेशंस' (ICRIER) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

 

इस सहयोग के तहत, ICRIER कपड़ा-संबंधी डेटा प्रणालियों को मजबूत करने के लिए अपनी अनुसंधान और तकनीकी क्षमताओं का योगदान देगा, और भारत के कपड़ा और परिधान (T&A) उद्योग में नीति-निर्माण के लिए विश्लेषणात्मक इनपुट प्रदान करेगा; यह उद्योग देश के विनिर्माण, निर्यात और रोजगार सृजन के लिए एक प्रमुख क्षेत्र है।

 

इस MoU पर कपड़ा मंत्रालय के उप महानिदेशक अखिलेश कुमार और ICRIER के निदेशक एवं मुख्य कार्यकारी शेखर अय्यर ने हस्ताक्षर किए।

 

'इंडियन काउंसिल फॉर रिसर्च ऑन इंटरनेशनल इकोनॉमिक रिलेशंस' (ICRIER) एक स्वायत्त सार्वजनिक नीति अनुसंधान संस्थान है, जो नीति-उन्मुख अनुसंधान और अंतर्दृष्टि के माध्यम से भारत के समावेशी आर्थिक विकास में सहायता करने पर केंद्रित है। यह संगठन कृषि, जलवायु नीति, डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था, रोजगार, व्यापार, निवेश और लैंगिक मुद्दों जैसे विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में अपने कार्यों के लिए जाना जाता है।

 

ICRIER की अनुसंधान गतिविधियाँ पाँच मुख्य क्षेत्रों के इर्द-गिर्द संगठित हैं: विकास, रोजगार और समष्टि अर्थशास्त्र (GEM); व्यापार, निवेश और बाह्य संबंध (TIER); कृषि नीति, स्थिरता और नवाचार (APSI); डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था, स्टार्ट-अप और नवाचार (DESI); और जलवायु परिवर्तन, शहरीकरण और स्थिरता (CCUS)।

 

India's textile ministry, ICRIER sign MoU for policy research

 

New Delhi: 2026/05/16: The Ministry of Textiles (MoT), Government of India, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) to support the development of evidence-based and analytically driven policies for the textile sector.

 

Under the collaboration, ICRIER will contribute its research and technical capabilities to strengthen textile-related data systems and provide analytical inputs for policymaking in India’s textile and apparel (T&A) industry, a key sector for the country’s manufacturing, exports and employment generation.

 

The MoU was signed by Akhilesh Kumar, Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Textiles, and Shekhar Aiyar, Director and Chief Executive of ICRIER.

 

The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) is an autonomous public policy research institution that focuses on supporting India’s inclusive economic growth through policy-oriented research and insights. The organisation is recognised for its work across sectors such as agriculture, climate policy, digital economy, employment, trade, investment and gender issues.

 

ICRIER’s research activities are organised around five core areas: Growth, Employment and Macroeconomics (GEM); Trade, Investment and External Relations (TIER); Agriculture Policy, Sustainability and Innovation (APSI); Digital Economy, Start-ups and Innovation (DESI); and Climate Change, Urbanisation and Sustainability (CCUS).
