CITI to organise 2nd Global Cotton Conference on 23rd November।। सीआईटीआई 23 नवंबर को दूसरा वैश्विक कपास सम्मेलन आयोजित करेगा

नई दिल्ली : 2022/11/16: भारतीय कपड़ा उद्योग परिसंघ (सीआईटीआई) बुधवार, 23 नवंबर को नई दिल्ली के होटल द पार्क में "गेम-चेंजिंग टेक्नोलॉजीज एंड ट्रेट्स फॉर अचीविंग हाई यील्ड्स एंड फाइन क्वालिटी ऑफ कॉटन" पर दूसरा ग्लोबल कॉटन कॉन्फ्रेंस 2022 आयोजित करने जा रहा है।   हाइब्रिड इवेंट में ट्रैसेबिलिटी और सर्कुलरिटी जैसे पहलुओं पर भी चर्चा की जाएगी।

केंद्रीय कपड़ा, वाणिज्य और उद्योग, उपभोक्ता मामले और खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री पीयूष गोयल इस कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उद्घाटन भाषण देंगे।

 

टेक्सटाइल एडवाइजरी ग्रुप (टीएजी) के अध्यक्ष सुरेश कोटक थीम सत्र में 'भारतीय कपास - वर्तमान और भविष्य के रुझान' पर एक प्रस्तुति देंगे। 'कपड़ा और वस्त्र उद्योग के कार्बन फुटप्रिंट से निपटना' पर एक अन्य प्रस्तुति निषाद नानावती (प्रमुख - व्यवसाय विकास, ईएनईएन ग्रीन सर्विसेज प्राइवेट लिमिटेड) द्वारा की जाएगी।

 

'बदलती जलवायु के तहत आनुवंशिक संसाधनों के कुशल उपयोग के लिए कपास प्रजनन कार्यक्रमों का पुनरुद्धार' पर पहले सत्र में एएफसी इंडिया लिमिटेड के बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष और साउथ एशिया बायोटेक्नोलॉजी सेंटर (एसएबीसी) के अध्यक्ष डॉ. सीडी मायी की भागीदारी होगी; डॉ. एम रामासामी, अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक, रासी सीड्स (प्रा.) लिमिटेड; डॉ. एसके शुक्ला, निदेशक, आईसीएआर-सिरकॉट, मुंबई; डॉ. के सेल्वराजू, महासचिव, दक्षिणी भारत मिल्स एसोसिएशन (SIMA); और डॉ. केशव क्रांति, मुख्य वैज्ञानिक, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कपास सलाहकार समिति (आईसीएसी), यू.एस.

 

दूसरे सत्र की थीम 'कपास - वैश्विक कच्चे माल का परिदृश्य' होगा। यूनुपोम कौसिक, वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष, ओलम इंडिया, सत्र का संचालन करेंगे। अलेक्जेंड्रे शेंकेल, उपाध्यक्ष, अब्रापा (ब्राज़ीलियाई कपास उत्पादक संघ); डॉ. टेरी टाउनसेंड, वैश्विक सलाहकार, कॉटन एनालिटिक्स, यूएस; पीयूष नारंग, कार्यक्रम प्रतिनिधि - भारत और श्रीलंका, कॉटन काउंसिल इंटरनेशनल; और सुमीत मित्तल, कॉटन, लुइस ड्रेफस कंपनी के भारत प्रमुख इसके पैनलिस्ट होंगे।

 

'ट्रेसेबिलिटी एंड सर्कुलरिटी' पर अंतिम सत्र होगा। यह अर्थशास्त्री और वरिष्ठ पत्रकार जी चंद्रशेखर द्वारा संचालित किया जाएगा। इस विषय पर चर्चा करने वालों में क्रिस्पिन अर्जेंटीना, प्रबंध निदेशक, द सॉर्सेरी; लाउड्स इंडिया की प्रबंध निदेशक अनीता चेस्टर; तारा लकमैन, स्थिरता सलाहकार, कॉटन काउंसिल इंटरनेशनल; ज्योति नारायण कपूर, कंट्री डायरेक्टर, बेटर कॉटन इनिशिएटिव- इंडिया; और मनीष गुप्ता, मैनेजर - सप्लाई चेन, बेटर कॉटन इनिशिएटिव – इंडिया आदि होंगे।

CITI to organise 2nd Global Cotton Conference on 23rd November

New Delhi : 2022/11/16: The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) is going to organise the 2nd Global Cotton Conference 2022 on “Game-Changing Technologies & Traits for Achieving High Yields and Fine Quality of Cotton” on Wednesday, November 23 at Hotel The Park in New Delhi. Aspects like traceability and circularity will also be discussed at the hybrid event.

Union minister of textiles, commerce & industry, consumer affairs and food & public distribution Piyush Goyal will give the inaugural address in his capacity as the Chief Guest at the event.

 

Textile Advisory Group (TAG) chairman Suresh Kotak will give a presentation on ‘Indian cotton – current and future trends’ in the theme session. Another presentation on ‘Tackling the textile & clothing industry’s carbon footprint’ would be made by Nishad Nanavaty, head - Business Development, ENEN Green Services Pvt Ltd.

 

The first session on ‘Revamping of Cotton Breeding Programs for Efficient Use of Genetic Resources under Changing Climate’ will see participation of Dr. CD Mayee, chairman of the Board, AFC India Ltd and president, South Asia Biotechnology Centre (SABC); Dr. M Ramasami, chairman and managing director, Rasi Seeds (P) Ltd; Dr. SK Shukla, director, ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai; Dr. K Selvaraju, secretary general, Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA); and Dr. Keshav Kranthi, chief scientist, International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), US.

 

The second session will have ‘Cotton – Global Raw Material Scenario’ as its theme. Unupom Kausik, senior vice president, Olam India, will moderate the session where panellists will be Alexandre Schenkel, vice president, Abrapa (Brazilian Cotton Growers Association); Dr. Terry Townsend, global consultant, Cotton Analytics, US; Peush Narang, programme representative – India & Sri Lanka, Cotton Council International; and Sumeet Mittal, India head of Cotton, Louis Dreyfus Company.

 

The final session on ‘Traceability & Circularity’ will be moderated by economist and senior journalist G Chandrashekhar. Discussing the subject will be Crispin Argento, managing director, The Sourcery; Anita Chester, managing director, Laudes India; Tara Luckman, sustainability advisor, Cotton Council International; Jyoti Narain Kapoor, country director, Better Cotton Initiative – India; and Manish Gupta, manager - Supply Chain, Better Cotton Initiative – India.
